MADES Inspects Wastewater Treatment Plant in Coronel Oviedo

The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES) has carried out a detailed inspection of the wastewater treatment plant of the future General Hospital Coronel Oviedo, in compliance with current legal regulations. This action aims to coordinate future inspections once the plant begins operations.

As part of the required measures, the project managers will be asked to present analyses of effluents conducted by accredited laboratories, with certified samples. Additionally, monthly controls will be carried out to ensure compliance with established environmental regulations.

The inspection involved representatives from MADES, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), and the V Health Region, who worked together to ensure that the facilities meet sustainability and environmental protection standards.

Under Law No. 6123/2018, which regulates MADES's competencies, and Law No. 294/93 on Environmental Impact Assessment, specialists thoroughly examined all stages of the wastewater treatment system during the visit. This included primary, secondary, and tertiary processes, as well as the final discharge point.

The verification of the effluent plant of the General Hospital Coronel Oviedo is a demonstration of the commitment to sustainability and environmental care by the competent authorities.
